02Outfield players occupy the perimeter, spacing to avoid sharing the same vertical lane.

03Ball circulates GK-to-CB-to-fullback-to-midfielder, with GK always offering a lateral option.

04On the coach's color call, the group must switch the direction of circulation within two passes.

05Defenders rotate every 90 seconds after a regain or interception.

Constraint:

GK must touch the ball every third sequence to stay integrated in circulation.

Progression:

Space: reduce grid to 16x16m to sharpen decision speed.

Back-line bowl shape vs organized press

Develop Support and Width principles by forming a back-line bowl shape with GK as 12th player to build a numerical overload against a committed press.

01Back four plus GK form a bowl shape (3v2 vs opposition front line) with fullbacks holding width in the wide progression channel.

02Attacking press of 5 sets a mid-block line of confrontation, jumping when the ball enters the central lane.

03Back line circulates side-to-side, baiting the press left before switching right through the double-pivot.

04On a successful switch beyond the press line, the team scores by playing into one of two mini-goals positioned in the half-spaces.

05If the press regains possession, they counter into the two opposite mini-goals to punish the loss.

Constraint:

Central defenders may not exchange more than two consecutive passes between themselves.

Progression:

Players: even numbers to 7v6 to raise press difficulty.

Progressing through the lines: 3v2 build-up vs mid-block

Primary ObjectivePRIORITY 1

Develop Penetration and Mobility principles by progressing the ball vertically through midfield into the final third against a settled defensive block.

01Building team sets up in 4-3-3 with GK included as 3v2 outlet against the opposition front line pressing in the middle third.

02Defensive block of 7 holds a mid-to-high line, pressing when the ball enters the central press-trap zone.

03Building team must break the first press line via a pass into the pocket between the lines or a switch to the far-side wide lane.

04Once beyond the first line, the nearest forward runner releases vertically into the space behind, attacking through, around, or behind the second line.

05Attacking team scores in the full-size goal; if possession is lost inside the press-trap zone, the 5 nearest defenders counter-press immediately to win it back within 5 seconds before the deep block can recover.

Constraint:

No back-pass to the GK after the ball has crossed the halfway line unless under immediate red-trigger pressure.

Progression:

Space: compress the middle third zone by 10m to increase press intensity.

Conditioned game: build-up to goal with directional reward

Develop Support and Width principles in a match-realistic transfer, rewarding clean progression from GK through the lines into the attacking third.

01Both teams play 4-3-3, building from the GK with the back-line bowl shape and inverted fullback overload as trained in Phase 2 and 3.

02Any goal scored following a sequence that started with a GK pass and progressed through at least two defensive lines counts double.

03Defensive team presses using the mid-block trigger, jumping as a unit when the ball enters the central press-trap zone.

04On regain, the 5 nearest players counter-press for five seconds before the team commits to an immediate vertical release if the ball is won in the middle or final third.

05Play is continuous; coach intervenes only to freeze-and-question on repeated square-ball sequences across the back line.

Constraint:

Double-goal rule voided if the GK is bypassed entirely (no long punts count toward the sequence).

Progression:

Task: award a third bonus point for a sequence completed through the cutback zone.
